Founded in El Paso, TX, by Rodrigo Fuentes and Laura Simmons, KIUBOshop.com is the online destination for authentic Mexican nostalgic products, like candy, beauty bars, and boots, in the United States. As a family that is ethnically Mexican and culturally Mexican-American, we understand the urge to maintain strong cultural ties to Mexico while living in the United States.

Growing up in Cd. Juarez and El Paso, but later dispersing to various states, we missed the candies of our youth. We searched hopelessly for our favorite snacks (cacahuates japoneses), health products (crema de concha nacar), cookware (exprimidor de limon), and clothes (botas pitiadas) wherever we lived. Naturally, we turned to the Internet for help but found that many of the online stores appeared untrustworthy, charged too much for shipping, or did not carry our favorite products.

As a result, we launched KIUBO to offer our favorite snacks, teas, cookware, cowboy-style boots, and beauty products. Our mission is to (1) provide a website that even first-time online shoppers can trust; (2) offer free shipping on orders over $99; (3) give you the best selection of Mexican products that you desire regardless of where you live. Above all, KIUBO is dedicated to customer service — we want to show first-time online shoppers how rewarding e-commerce can be. Finally, KIUBO is more than just an online store with great products. We seek to empower first- and second-generation Mexicans through e-commerce. While Mexicans are the largest national origin group in the United States, we are the least likely to go online—even when age, income, language, generation, or nativity is held constant. Further, only 41% of Hispanics in the U.S. shop online. Through our affiliate programs (explained below) we strive to give more Mexicans access to the benefits of e-commerce (e.g., great selection and prices).
